Missing Rehearsal Numbers

Concert Band Piece. Score has rehearsal numbers and most parts also have those rehearsal numbers. But not Flute, Oboe or Bassoon. (see Screen Shot).

Does anyone know what might cause this?

If you have local time signatures and rehearsal marks showing bar numbers, it’s a known issue…

Greg, the issue is with the local time signatures you’ve used from bar 256 in various instruments to produce 3/4 beat grouping within your 6/8 time signature. Unfortunately the presence of local time signatures causes Dorico to get confused about where it should get its bar numbers from for the rehearsal marks (it’s obviously not ideal, because as you can see it’s still able to draw the bar numbers OK!). This is something that we need to resolve. For the time being, I’d advise against using loc…

Edit: since your system track is not displaying bar numbers, I guess you do have local TS.

Is it ok now? I selected all, filtered for time signatures, deleted them, then added a new 4/4 from the beginning. There were lots of hidden local ones.

I think I have made a mess somehow here. I tried your solution but the new 4/4 time signature does not appear on the staves I was having trouble with, namely Flute 1 and Flute 2. What is weird is that when I try to “select all” in my score, not everything gets selected. I was able to Filter the time signatures and then hit delete and then tried to enter an entirely new 4/4 in measure one. When I do that it fixes the rehearsal numbers in Oboe and Bassoon but Flute 1 and Flute 2 do not show the new time signature at all and are still not showing up in the part. Furthermore, When I then switch to Galley View every measure of Flute 1 and Flute 2 shows an X over every measure. Maybe I did not follow your instructions as you intended them. Can I send you the entire score instead of just a portion that I originally sent and see if you can duplicate what I just described?

Try selecting an X signpost in each staff and then applying Select More (2 or 3 times) to expand that selection to the entire document.

Then when you delete them, you will delete all the local time signatures in one move, and the flow time signature(s) should apply to the Flutes as well.

If such a blanket move makes you nervous, you can try it on a copy of your file.

Thank you both for helping me untangle this mess I somehow created. Jesele provided the initial solution an Derrek helped me figure how how best to execute it. All is good now. All rehearsal Marks showing in all parts.

Lesson learned.
