Mix Console Snapshots Slow My Projects

In the event this helps someone… I spent the day, through the process of elimination, removing elements from mixes that I have which take 10-15 minutes to load and then take forever responding after each basic edit. (These are larger projects)

One by one I deleted all FX buses, removed all channel inserts, all inputs, cues, reference tracks, automations, etc. with no change to my long wait times. Finally, I found that by deleting all my MixConsole Snapshots, the problem went away. I tested several songs with only deleting Snapshots and they all perform normal now.

The MixConsole screen still takes a minute or two to load all tracks. This seems normal for larger track counts. My issue was after the MixConsole loading screen finished, it would take a long time until I could hit play or have the session respond.

I can now instantly play the tracks and edit normal without causing delays when the project track view appears.

If anyone has this similar issue, can you see if your MixConsole has several snapshots and if deleting them fixes the issue?

Let me know your results.

PS. I am running Windows 11 pro (optimized for audio) with a i9-13900K, 64 GB RAM and Cubase 15 pro. Also, my CPU averaged at 27% during these long wait times…

Just curious…
