Mixdown Preset for mp3 doesn't save Sample Rate

Win 10, Cubase 11 Pro
Reproduce:

  • File → Export → Audio Mixdown
  • select File Type: mp3
  • select Sample Rate: 48KHz
  • select Preset → Save Preset and give it a name
  • select some other preset or change File Type and Sample Rate
  • select Preset and load your previously saved preset
  • it’s mp3 with 44.1KHz now

Win 10 Cubase Pro 11.0.20
Exactly same behaviour here.

Update: ticked the box “High-Quality Mode” and now 48kHz sticks with the preset.

Hi,

Reported to Steinberg. Thank you.

Hi Martin.
I’m not sure, but I think this is the way it’s supposed to work. You have to choose “High-Quality Mode” to be able to save a MP3 preset with 48.000 kHz. I could be wrong though?

Hi,

Thank you for your reply.

Sorry, I don’t see the logic here. You can select the 48kHz even without the High-Quality Mode, so why not to save this settings with the preset?

Yes, I have to agree. There’s no logic in this settings window. But until it gets fixed (if it ever gets fixed…) this is yet another “workaround”… By choosing High-Quality Mode You can save the MP3 preset with 48.000 kHz and the settings will recall correctly next time You open Your preset.
