Mixdown problem after exporting

Hello! I recorded a 16-track song on my Yamaha MOXF8 and wanted to mix it down. To do this, I saved the song in SMF (Standard MIDI File) format onto a USB drive. I then connected the MOXF8 to Cubase 13 Artist and created a new project, adding a VST instrument track for the MOXF. After importing the SMF file, the MOXF synchronized with Cubase, displaying all 16 tracks of the recording. I switched off the local control from the MOXF’s utility menu to prevent MIDI conflicts. The MOXF has two volume sliders: the master volume slider and the DAW level slider. Currently, the DAW level slider is set to zero. When I increase the DAW level slider, I can hear double sounds from the song, which I understand is normal behavior in this setup.

I wanted to add effects to some tracks, which is why I moved the song to Cubase. However, I noticed that the song is louder during playback in Cubase, but it sounds quieter after exporting. I’m not sure what I might have missed, and I need help solving this issue. Could you guide me on what I should do to fix this?

I’m not sure where to post this question—should I post it in the YamahaSynth Forum or the Cubase Forum?

Thanks!

Any chance that you use “Control Room” and have Stereo Outputs still connected? If so, there’s the volume difference.
Stereo Outputs should be deactivated (routed to nowhere) if Control Room is enabled.

Thanks for your reply @almaelectronix
I am using Cubase 13 Artist… It doesn’t have control room feature…
