Mixing hairpins and cresc. ...... by default?

Hello everyone
When the partition contains hairpins (by default) and cresc texts, is it possible to choose “cresc. abbreviated text with a dotted continuation line” by default . At the moment, I have to go through the Properties panel every time
Thank you.

It’s in Engraving options, section Dynamics.

(Almost all the things you can override in the properties panel have their default set either in Engraving options or in Notation options, with the former being for the whole project and the latter being on a per-flow basis.)

Thank you Estigy for your reply, but I’m afraid I’m not explaining what I’d like.
For gradual dynamics I always choose hairpins by default and when I want a cresc. text, I do it with the popover and that’s when I always have to ask it in Properties panel to choose the progressive style ‘cresc. …’.
And if I choose ‘cresc…’ in the Engraving option ‘Appearance of progressive shades’ then all my hairpins are changed to cresc…
My question is whether you can choose Hairpins and cresc… at the same time

(I hope the Deepl translation is understandable)

Ah, I see what you are saying.

What you can do, directly from the popup:
“<” => gives you a hairpin
“cresc” => gives you a cresc. text
“cresc…” => gives you a “cresc. . . . . . . . .”

So you can actually put it what you need and get the correct result :slight_smile:

Thank you very much Estigy. That’s exactly it.
I hadn’t thought of writing “cresc…” in the popup.
