Monitor botton not working

Hey,

I own Cubase for years.
I have updated to Cubase 10 once it came out.
Recently the “Monitor” button isn’t working.
Steps to reproduce:

  1. I open a new project
  2. Add a new audio track
  3. Tap the monitor (It goes on meaning turns orange)
  4. I tap it again (It goes off meaning turns grey)
  5. I press it again and nothing happens.

The behavior isn’t consistent. Sometimes add a new track and it’s not even turning on.
The input from the mic is working well in other software. The issue is only in Cubase.

I would really appreciate if anyone has any insights on this. This blocks me from recording.

I’m using Mac OS Mojave 10.14.4
Cubase pro 10.0.20 build 187
FirefaceUC RME
Totalmix

Many thanks in advance !

Hi and welcome,

It works to me here. Could you try in Cubase Safe Start Mode, please?

Thank you for the message, but still didn’t help.
I followed the tutorials instructions (cmd+shift+alt while opening ==> disable program preferences =>sound card=>already registered).
I added a new audio track, and the monitor button isn’t press-able. it stays grey and won’t turn orange.
I tried adding more tracks / switching between different ASIO drivers but nothing seems to work.
Again, in Ableton for example the monitor works fine.

Any further ideas for how to solve this?
Thank you in advance

Two small discovery:

  1. I remembered I can turn the monitor on and off through the mixer, which seems to work well.
  2. I assigned a key command (keyboard shortcut) to the monitor button which works well.

So I’m now able to record.
But still the bug remains the same: the monitor button in the inspector isn’t press-able.
