Monitor sizing disaster with cubase 15 w11

Just upgraded to cubase 15 pro and switched out my monitors at the same time and now I have extreme issues with cubase fitting into windows.

I am using 2 monitors with the basic w11 settings and practically all windows wont fit, fall of the screen etc- I searched online and this seems to be a known problem and many people have tried many solutions- but I had purchased through sweetwater and didn’t want to mess anything up, so I called their tech support-

the tech tried a few of the workarounds I had read about, but finally gave up and said he would have to get help from Stienberg- but its been over a week (I’ve reached back out) so I figured I would ask if anyone knows work arounds?

Here’s some of the problems-

Primary cubase windows do not self manage content- the only way I can get them to fit is by removing rows of functionality.

Pop up apps like Hallion, run across monitors and can’t be resized at all- the sweetwater tech reduced the size of the text to 50% to get halion on the monitor but then its unreadable.

Even when I get windows placed in a way that I can get work done, the whole balancing act falls apart when I do something like turning off the bottom window.

Any ideas of stuff I can do or how to get steirnberg help would be appreciated!

Are both monitors set to the same scaling and resolution? Or are they different types of displays?

If they are each set to different scaling settings, it can make it harder for apps like Cubase to adapt.

Also depends how you have the displays configured in Windows settings as far as position goes

Right-click your desktop and choose “Display Settings” to get here and check these settings. Click the display at the top and then look at scale and layout

Pete thanks for getting back!

Yes they are two different sizes.

In the scale window it reads 100% .. recommended.

In display resolution it says 1280 * 720 ..recommended.

That’s for one display …

Okay I see.. The other one is set at 150% and $1,600 * 900 recommended

I suggest trying it with both set to 100% and see if that helps your Cubase issues at all

But I can see why you’re having challenges fitting Cubase on the screen. 1280x720 is below typical minimum for Windows, and running the 1600x900 at 150% is also leaving you no real screen space.

Cubase minimum resolution (at 100% scaling) is 1440x900
Recommended is 1920x1080

So you may be able to cram things in, but it wasn’t really designed for the smaller of the two. But 1600x900 at 100% should get you just a hair above min spec.

OK, 1600*900 is really small on this small monitor, but it does look like everything is on the screen for a change.

The other screen still has problems-

As an example, Hallion looks great, but the bottom of the screen is cut off- If I pull it over to the small screen (that we just reset), it fits, but it would work much better in the big screen-

Note that hallion is not maximized- it only has a red close x in the top right

Right. It’s because the monitor is too small and has too low a resolution – you don’t have the minimum number of pixels these apps require. There’s not really anything you can do about that except purchase larger displays that support higher resolution.

ok, very helpful and better than it was!

Much, much appreciated!
