Hello!
When I use the punch-in feature in conjunction with tape machine monitoring, there is always a small dropout in my monitoring signal right at the beginning of the punch. There are no issues with the recording… it’s only the monitoring. When playing back the recorded section it starts right at the beginning as expected, it’s just that I can’t hear the very beginning of the punch. The only time I use it is when I want to make very tight punches, and if I can’t hear the first note I play when recording, it renders the feature basically useless.
I am running an i9-13900k, 64GB of ram, WD black SSD, Focusrite Clarett+8pre, windows 11, so I’m pretty sure this is not a performance issue. I have no noticeable latency when monitoring - it’s only the very beginning of the punch, like Cubase is lagging behind when switching on the monitoring for Tape Machine mode.
When I looked up the issue I found posts going back to 2007 reporting this issue and I’ve tried the fixes I found there. Constrain Delay Compensation made no difference, and I even opened up a new project with zero plugins and still have the same issue.
Any idea what I can do to fix this or is this a Cubase issue?
