Monitoring external effects in Cubase 5

Hi there,

I like the effects sound of my Alesis Quadraverb and configured it as an external effect (on my Audio HW, the MR816x).

This works well for mixing.

But if I want to record something, I only can hear the raw input signal (if I want with an MR816x-internal effect added).

Is there a way to hear (not: record) the external effect while recording (and hearing) an audio track?

I would accept some latency (of the external effect) during recording.

Even after reading the manual, I could not find a solution. Did I just miss the right page? Or has anybody an idea?

Have you got direct monitoring switched on if so turn it off.
