Looking for a separate Insert Audio File option that can go straight to the previously used folder than going through two sub menus on right click.
Also how is the list highlighted in red cleared for insert audio files and montage?
use the file manager / finder and drag and drop instead
I would not want to use a second option (File Explorer/Finder/WL File Browser), when there can be straightforward right click import. There is also a shortcut for this import, but an insert file option (as seen in first post) is always better.
personally I can’t think of a more straightforward way than being able to drag and drop from the OS’s file manager / finder into a DAW if im honest but we all work differently

True, many users prefer working with only one active app and avoiding drag and drop. Also, the media info you see for montage import in the first clip that I requested on another thread.
Do you know of an option to clear folder list? or is it a setting of deleting a preferences file in setting?
Yes, especially when there exists state-of-the-art file browsers such as https://www.xyplorer.com/
I don’t unfortunately, I’ve dragged and dropped for so long mine is consistently empty

You can erase the file list and the folder list history by removing these files.
AppData\Roaming\Steinberg\WaveLab Pro 12\Cache\lru_file_paths.dat

Thank you. I will try that later. I think it would be nice to have option to clear that folder list and also clear recently used plugins from WL like how you have the option in file menu to clear recent files. It also helps when sharing screenshot or videos to others where personal folders and plugins can be taken off the list.
That deleted the folder history. And about Insert Media File, I was asking for a shortened version of the existing 3 step browse to folder option. As there is a shortcut for this, it is not going to affect workflow but still may be nice to have.
Or in other words - if the Insert Label can be moved to the left and “Open File Selector” moved below paste button.
It looks like this is also deleting render folder path history. Can a clear folder list option be added separate for file import to montage and wherever this is applicable?
I think show and hide folder list can also be an option.
