With each new version of Cubase, I’m seeing continued inconsistencies with which dialog boxes can be closed with Escape. The latest that word in 14 but not in 15 is “You have modified the timecode offset” which now requires a click. Really frustrating to have yet another workflow stopper! Any thoughts on this Steinberg?
Cubendo has taken several regressions during the last few years. Keyboard navigation support is just one of them. Hard to tell why they keep getting worse. Maybe Steinberg doesn’t have the capacity to introduce new features on a yearly basis in order to vitalize revenue while at the same time keeping the quality of the existing features on par.
The dialog box is asking if you want to move - or not move - project content after you have changed the timecode offset.
That yes/no question would appear to require an answer for Cubase to work properly.
If you could just hit Escape to get rid of that menu, would you be replying “Yes” or “No” with your Escape button?

It would be “no,” or “take no action.” Since it’s asking if you want to do something, no matter what the “something is,” ESC would be whatever “take no action” means.
This also happens when a new audio device is detected - you used to be able to “ignore” with an ESC but you can no longer do so, and it’s not ideal.
In the past Esc has always been a No
