More efficient way to input chords for solo sections?

I know to add chords to a non-rhythm section part, you have to go to Setup mode and enable chords for the part you want to add chord changes, and then to hide the chords for that part, you have to highlight chords you want hidden and then hide them in Properties. However, this is proving to be a very tedious process. Is there a more efficient way to do this?

No need to hide anything

Thanks for the response and the link. I wasn’t able to get any chords to appear using this method (though it’s likely user error), but I did find that if I create a slash region in the part I want to add changes, right-click the instrument in Setup, go to Chord Symbols, and select “Show in Chord Symbol and Slash Region”, then they show up just where the slashes are. Though it also makes sense that this would work if I set up a chord symbol region in the way described in the link you sent.

Did you happen to unhide the chord symbols before using the Chord Symbol Region? Does that affect it?

Yes, hiding the chords wasn’t the issue. When I open the chord symbol popover, it instructs me to input “reg” into the popover box, but there’s already a chord showing in that box. I tried deleting that and putting “reg”, adding “reg” after the chord, and just hitting enter with the chord showing, but none of those options showed the chord on the part. Any idea what I might be doing incorrectly?

I’m afraid you can’t input a chord symbol region using the popover at the same position where an existing chord symbol already exists. But you can use Write > Create Chord Symbol Region (or trigger that command via the jump bar, for example).
