- If I create a new Playing Technique in the editor and replace the default name “New Playing Technique” with a new name:
and click OK, the window will close and the newly named PT will show up in the PT panel, as expected.
However, on reopening the editor, the new name will now appear in the editing window, but Name: will have reverted to “New Playing Technique”:
Lesson to be learned? After naming the PT, press Return or click in the spaces at Text: or Popover Text: and the save behavior will be normal.
- It is possible for a “New Playing Technique” to show in PT panel Common category but not in the editor Common category:
This occurs when a New Playing Technique is created and not renamed, after which Return is not pressed and OK is clicked.
Since the “New Playing Technique” doesn’t appear in the editor, I cannot delete it from the panel. And editing the “New Playing Technique” from the panel selects the next item in the panel in the editor, for want of a place to go, I guess, and combines it with the name New Playing Technique! And again I see no way to delete the phantom New Playing Technique, because it is being used in the file!
In my opinion, in the situations described above, OK should be greyed out in the Playing Techniques editing window until Return is depressed.
