Hey Guys,
I was mastering the audio of a video and decided to export the video directly from Cubase. But i was shocked to find the video exported at 6GB. Why i was shocked was because I imported the video around 800mb file size! So, my question is, is there a way to reduce the video export size in the export options?
BTW all settings are set to the quality of the imported video, fps…
Thanks.
AFAIK not. Part of me is happy that for a couple of years I can import a greater variety of videos (welcome to the 21st century). The other part is sad that Export is so limited (still 1999?).
If I might suggest to search topics in both Cubase and Nuendo forums. I think this issue was discussed already and it might be worth more to put your vote there instead of here.

I totally agree with you. Cubase/Nuendo is a sound editor, not a video editor but it would be very useful to be able to render video with sound for review, where the video does not have to be of the highest quality. The Cubase/Nuendo renderer generates too large files and does not use the gpu, being especially slow. I export the audio alone and render for review in Premiere. It takes less time going through Premiere than waiting for the video export in Cubase/Nuendo.
It’s frustrating that such a much requested feature got implemented so incredibly poorly. It’s almost worse than not having it at all.
Yes you’re right. But we have to give them some credit, it’s still one of the best when it comes to video in DAW. Just a few feature requests.
