Mouse volume vs. window scroll / can it be deactivated?

Is there a way to disable the scroll-wheel of the mouse changing the volume parameter?
When I scroll in my project window and my mouse scrolls the window up and down (1) as supposed. But when I am by accident over a selected event (2) the wheel changes the volume, which is annoying.

thanks a lot, it would help though if this option could me more granular and could be disabled for the EVENT VOLUME only
