Have it so that if by holding down command + option (or something else) and clicking on a point, it moves the cursor to that bar/beat location. This would save a lot of time if you want to start at a place that is between markers etc.

peakae is right, you can do this by holding Alt + Shift and clicking.
Correct it has been implemented.
Best alternative is to engage the option that makes clicking anywhere in an empty space in the project area move the cursor to that location. There’s always an empty space somewhere and I use this all the time.
