I want to move the notes of the last beat of a bar to the nest system. How do I do this? The only thing that I could find in Dorico help was how to move an entire bar to the next system. Thanks for your help! Using Dorico Pro 6.2.10.
In Engrave mode, add a system break on the first bar of the next system. Then in Write mode, select the system break signpost and use Alt/Opt+left arrow to move the break backwards until it’s where you want it.
Alternatively, you could unset the property in Preferences > Note Input and Editing > Breaks > Snap system and frame breaks to barlines when creating, which will let you add breaks wherever you want. (Although in most cases you’re probably going to want them at barlines.)
Note that this leaves the end of the previous system without a barline, since the bar is not complete. If that’s not what you want, you could select the note which is now at the start of the next system and insert a barline before it.
