I do a good bit of moving groups of automation nodes back or forward in the timeline while trying to keep the values constant. it’s always a struggle, and I often have to move the nodes, then type in the values.
Is there a better way to do this?

If you hold down Ctrl/Cmd modifier the Constraint Direction will be applied. So you will not change the value. But also the Snap will be disabled (which shares the same modifier). So you can change a modifier for one of it to decouple it.
My way is to don’t use drag-and-drop. I move the mouse cursor over the Start Position in the Info View and I use scroll wheel to change the position.
