Moving the cursor to different locations on the grid

Is it me or is there no easy way in Cubase to move the cursor around for edits? Can I not just click anywhere in the arrangement window and the cursor moves? Do I need to press Shift and Alt eveytime? What am I doing wrong?

Ultimately, I’m trying to copy and paste a kick drum. I haven’t figured out simple copy and paste yet either. This should be easy right? Maybe I’m slow. Help, please.

There is a setting for this under Preferences→Transport:

Thank you very much!! I’m quickly learning that things that I expect to be default behavior may require settings changes in Cubase. Much appreciated, again!!

Click in the ruler.

Sometimes clicking in the empty space doesn’t always align to an exact position. One other workaround is just the enter the Transport information on what bar, beat, etc, you want it to align at. Example 45-1-1-0. I use that and the Shift click depending on which is the closest to use.

For the Key and Drum editors yes, either click in the ruler or sft+alt and click. Im only mentioning this because over the years some users expect the same behavior in the Key and Drum editors as in the project page.
