MOXF6 not recording properly with Cubasis

I have a MOXF6 and MODX7. The MODX records fine with Cubasis 2 on my IPad Air (latest model) but not so on my MOXF6. It tries to record. I get two thin blue lines but it does not appear to have any data in it. What am I doing wrong? It is probably something trivial? Please can you help and advise.
