MTC - but send Bars and Beats instead of Timecode

I’ve managed to create a widget (in O-S-C) that receives timecode information from Cubase and displays the current Project Cursor position on my touchscreen tablet (thanks to jean-emmanuel, the developer of the app - in this topic he showed me).

Does anyone know how to send Bars and Beats information instead of Timecode using MIDI?

I think this would be difficult. MIDI timecode doesn’t know the tempo, so the receiving device or module would need to do the calculations in order to display the resulting bar/beat values based on time sig, tempo and time.

But maybe the Mackie Control remote device will send some info that you can use, like this guy:
