MTC Slave / Live Monitoring CPU efficiency vs normal playback

Considering using Cubase 9 as a “print/video” rig, which will run as an MTC slave, monitoring live while synced or not. Running reverbs, some compression.

Does Cubase’s audio engine (/cpu distribution) work differently when monitoring live as opposed to normal playback (i.e. as a sequencer)? I know in the past other DAWs, such as Logic, would put most of the workload on a single core when monitoring live, but would better distribute when playing back a sequence.
