One of the most handy features in pro tools is their Clio gain implementation, which allows for multi-point gain automation on every audio region and updates the waveform in real-time so you can visualize changes. This is really handy for vocals, cleaning up recordings, etc.
Cubase has something partly similar if you use the pencil tool on a region, but it could be improved:
- allow for using the range tool on the line to easily trim gain
- update waveform depending on gain changes (just like if you use the standard clip gain line)
- start the line in the middle of the clip so you can easily increase or decrease it
Even if this was only available in the audio editor, it’d still be very handy.
