Gotcha, thanks. So because I (and Michael) instead went the viola-has-hidden-3:2e-tuplets route, we then had to do the extra step for accurate playback.

Shaving a Dorico technique with Occam’s razor…? :white_check_mark: Janus for the simpler route!

Thanks for the lesson, teach! (And I do mean that!)

Slacker? Not really. I started with Cage’s 4’ 33" (pretty easy in Dorico) then did Crumb’s Black Angels, but I did it for guitar solo.

If I may say: this is only simpler if playback is needed … because the other solution doesn’t need “overpopulated” bars - but I guess, I would decide on which one to use by looking at the whole piece for finding the most economic solution. Kudos to @Janus !

Agreed! (Apologies if I’m derailing the thread with the playback followup. I’m just seem to be “wired” to know it’s potentially correct in cases like wanting a demo for sharing.)

To all of y’all that helped—I figured it out!
1,000,000 thanks for the help.
BTW: very impressed with this forum’s rapid, informative and expert help.
Can’t wait until my next Dorical fluommoxing, which I’m sure will be forthcoming.
