I’m not sure I totally follow your description of how you have everything setup. There are settings for both Timebase (Linear or Musical) and Musical Mode (On/Off). Depending on the combination you use the results will be different. So it sounds like you’re using the wrong combo somewhere.
If this explanation doesn’t help you sort it out please post some screenshots showing the relevant Timebase and Musical Mode settings.
Hey @raino
Thanks for the response and sorry on the late reply.
What I’m referring to specifically is what is occurring at 48 seconds > 1 minute and 3 seconds in this video:
Notice when she changes the tempo the beginning and the end’s of the yellow events stay in the same place.
I set mine up identically but the ends move….?
On my end, to keep a recorded audio clip with the same visible duration when a tempo change occurs, I have to check that the Musical Mode option for it is ticked, in the Pool window. The changes between Musical Mode on/off are immediatly visible, as well as the hearable result during playback. This, with the Timebase switch set to Musical for the involved track.
I would suggest to read again @raino explanations, which are very well laid out.
If the start doesn’t move but the end does, that implies that the Audio File’s Musical Mode setting isn’t properly set. Between the 2 different Timebase settings (Linear & Musical) and the 2 different Musical Mode settings (On/Off) there are 4 possible combinations and each one behaves differently. The link I posted explains this as clearly as I know how.
Also what you see moving around on your screen will look different if your main Ruler is set to Bars & Beats or minutes & seconds.
