There i was in 6-7th grade running wild like most kids, living off the grid about hour and a half from town with no power, just a generator at night and had to haul in all of our water from town. Living away from town meant i had to get creative for having fun and i was one of the only kids who lived that far out so by the 5th grade i had already picked up playing guitar and even before that at 4 years old 8 mile was the first movie i ever bought so all of that music had already stuck with me then around 6-7th grade i managed to do bunch of yard work and bought a used ipod touch off craigslist and the first things i did was go buy a bunch of music anytime i had change so i didnt have to be stuck with my same CD player always skipping on bus hitting bumps. During that time i first discovered the Music Studio app and also the early versions of FL Studio Mobile, it took me probably a week or two on school bus rides home to figure out how to make a beat and from there it was non stop. I have around a dozen devices with old and newer versions of this app and as well as FL studio mobile (2.5.4 IOS) before they changed it to the new hardly recognizable version that i dont understand even to this day but your app remained that same style as the old FL did and yours had the most user friendly setup ever. Im sure the original speed producers could have started there honestly hahaha. Never ever change this app if anything add small things but never change the whole layout and simplicity to it. I have for sure 10,000+ hours on this app alone and know how to find everything and i even have a few little things could change which ill include at the end of this. Ive been on this app for probably 12-15 years approximately maybe longer and its my 2nd language now hahaha. One day id like to meet the creators or owners and show them my dozens of devices with thousands and thousands of beats, i am creating a lot of albums as well with this Music Studio app and Garageband. I have a few inter app plugins i use occasionally but that has had some issues but rarely. I do plan to look into a newer ipad something with M2-M4 chip but i want this app to still work with it otherwise ill continue rocking my old one only for this app, not a single other app DAW can sell me like this one that has stayed true to its roots and design because it works great.
Below ill include some things would be great to maybe add if ever a future update and as well as maybe a bug or two ive seen/ran into.
Features to add if ever a future update (dont change layout though, everything easy to find way it is, just adding more to whats there)
-AuV3 for pitch correction and maybe speed adjustment much like the app music speed does so can mess with audio samples a little easier and have it available when you record or when your editing audio, maybe have speed correction too so could snap to BPM or something right away if need it
-When importing files say a drum kit when extracting the files have them go directly into tracks instead of audio folder as it can be hard to track them down if have 1000s of other audio files to scroll through and cant use a mouse to scroll so have to manually swipe swipe swipe until find each individual sound when if extract them all directly to tracks boom already there ready to sample
-Make recordings only save if you save the beat, sometimes you record something and mess up or doesnt come out how you want and the file auto saves into audio folder but i always have to go in and manually erase each one that im not using so can find the ones i am after when if could just make it for saving only then would save a tremendous amount of storage too on these devices when recording or making new samples etc
-Make compatible for inter app audio with Garageband. After the old FL studio mobile changed somewhere around 2018-2020 i stopped using it and discovered Garageband was on mobile so i got that and now i only use your Music Studio app and Garageband currently but cant use inter app audio between them both when it could help a lot instead of making a sample or whole beat then have to upload the folder into either app as it takes a really long time to bring a project over atleast 20 minutes or so saving each file n so on.
-Lastly if i save a beat with each track seperate for stems purposes just make it into a folder not each individual file i have to select then email each one just for a beat when if save a beat then export with each file seperate if just make it into a zip folder right away be so much easier for sending out and so on, ive been in sessions where i wasnt able to get the track to the artist before they left because how long it takes finding it all instead of just making folders can select everything from
(Bugs and or issues have ran into)
-Inter app audio has had some issues like using Numa Player to record into Music Studio app it will play then when you save it and open it back up the inter app audio doesnt play it still has the notes written that you saved but doesnt play anything so if use Numa Player you have to record the song then export it immediately to wav or something for the instrument to stay on there but if you record something then save it then click back later it doesnt play and has an issue with that
-For transferring data to other devices (most common annoyance ive had) When using the network feature to say connect a computer to save and download stuff from old devices i always have to individually select each beat then download, for some reason you cant select all at once and download so every device transfer ive ever done always took me 2-3 days sometimes more to download them all having to work A-Z going in order to download one at a time.
It would be night and day difference if can maybe add those few features and dial in a couple others that could be looked at but over all i give it a 10 out of 5. Hit me back, in the chat, truly yours, understand, your biggest fan, this is stan
