My Cubase expired...?

Hello!

Something odd just happened. I suddently get a message saying my “trial has expired” on my Cubase 14 Pro. I bought Cubase 14 Pro (upgraded from 13 Pro) on February this year, I paid 1100NOK . But suddently after four months, the product has expired? Did I pay 1100NOK for a trial?

I dont get it…

User error for sure  When you exit the program, visit steinberg dot net and log into your acct there, what does it say you own? What does it also say that you’ve activated?

To add to @DosWasBest’s excellent advice – It’s possible the trial expired but your purchased license is still valid. Look in the Steinberg Activation Manager on your machine – what licenses are there?

And just to address the elephant in the room: No, you did not pay for a trial.

Thanks for the reply guys!

Here is a screenshot of my Steinberg Activation Manager. It says “Expired”. But If it was a trial…would it not have ended months ago if I downloaded it in February?

I even found my payment in my online banking…

Have you ever entered the Download Access Code for the update? You should have received one along with your purchase.
You can enter it in the Steinberg Download Assistant (top left corner).

I cant find any e-mail about Cubase 14 at all in my Inbox or Deleted-folder.

Is there a way to actually contact the customer service?

The email should have come from mailer@fastspring.com. Try searching that.

Then try the online shop support if you lost or didn’t receive it.

You can tell them approximate date of purchase based on your bank payment information.

I don’t know why your trial lasted so long but have seen another case where the same happened here on the forum so looks like it just happens occasionally.

Tried to contact them. Waiting for a reply :man_shrugging:

It took a while, but they carried out the update I bought, so I could activate Cubase 14 Pro!

Thanks for all the replys, guys! it was really helpful!

Hmmm ..I am not sure if my issue is the same as yours…
I bought (upgraded) and have used 13.0.10 almost everyday since the end of 2023. Since yesterday it will not open. I get a Steinberg Activation Manager message saying there is a network problem and they (it) is unable to contact the license servers ..and I must ensure that I am connected to the Internet.
Hmmm.. The computer I use for Cubase is never connected to the Internet (!!!)
It also says that Cubase pro 13 is expired.
I am Deeply frustrated and confused.

Well…as with the first gentleman …

.When you exit the program, visit steinberg dot net and log into your acct there, what does it say you own? What does it also say that you’ve activated?

I have seen the message that the Activation Manager cannot be reached by Cubase. I have never seen that it requests an internet connection, though. Can you take a picture of that message and post it here?

Thanks for your reply.
Here is a photo of the info that comes up.

Thanks. A bit weird indeed.
Have you already tried the most successful support trick ever: switch off the computer, wait 15 seconds, switch it back on again?

Yes I’ve tried the on/off button.
When I look in the Activation Manager it says Cubase pro 13 is expired. That is crazy 'cause I bought it as an upgrade (!)
None of my earlier cubase versions are even shown.
I have written to Steinberg support..hopefully they will understand whats going on.

Was it connected when you first activated C13? Or did you run offline activation?

None of my earlier cubase versions are even shown.

That’s normal…the last license you updated to is the only one you should see.

I am not sure if that has to do anything with the issue but your computer seems to be living in the past.

Was it like that before? Can you try to enter todays date if that helps in any way?
