My Direct Offline Processing Window does not look right

I’m on Cubase 13 Artist on PC, i9 12th Gen, 64Gb RAM, Win11 64bit RME Babyface sound card.
My Direct Offline Processing Window does not look like the ones in the “How to” videos on YouTube and I can’t put effects onto clips.
The DOP window in the tutorials has an Add Effects button and a selection of other fields. Mine is super simple and mostly says “No clip detected”, even when I select a clip and use the drop down menus to apply an effect. I’ll try uploading images to show you.

Am I doing something wrong?

Hi,

As the Comparison editions shows, the Direct Offline Processing is part of Cubase Pro only.

This is absolutely frustrating that Steinberg keeps removing basic functionalities so they can package it as a pro function.

I’m out.

Hi and welcome to the forum,

Direct Offline Process has never been part of Cubase Artist.

And actually, the opposite is the truth. Steinberg is adding more and more features to the lower editions from Pro. For example, VariAudio was part of the Pro edition for many years. Now it’s also in the Artist edition. The multiple Marker Tracks feature was only available in Nuendo in the past. Now, we have it in Cubase Pro, and the same applies to the MixConsole 4.

Hi, Martin

Actually, DOP is a part of the Artist version of Cubase (Cubase Artist 13.0.20 Operation Manual, p. 435), contrarily to what the Cubase versions comparison chart states, but it’s a cut down version, which is rather uneasy to use, apparently. There has been a recent thread, on the subject :

DOP was working on Cubase 12 Artist.

Hi,

I’m sorry, DOP is part of Cubase Artist, with limited set of features.

What exactly is wrong? Could you attach a screenshot, please?
