My Father-in-law wants to install his YAMAHA MW12cx. I’ts still connected and working. But the thing is , it works with CUBASE AI 6 (CD version 6.0.3)
I know every updates have been stopped since 2025.
I’ve install all programs included in the CD. After reading some things on internet, I’ve installed Steinberg Download Assistant. In the “all products” menu there’s no CUBASE AI6, there’s some CUBASE AI 9.5 to CUBASE AI 15 but no 6.
It seems there’s no activation code when he bought this YAMAHA product. The CUBASE AI 6 CD was delivered with this product.
How can I help him installing and activationg this Cubase product?

Steinberg Download assistant does not show or have access to programs that were the “old” server based/dongle based. Such as Cubase 3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10 etc.

What are you saying? The interface and cbAi6 DOES work on his computer because you’re looking right at it??? Or….it DOESN’T work?
If the idea is that you’d like to acquire a more modern Cubase version…..contact support with cd info you possess to find out possible options they may have for you.
Cubase 6 is really old and not supported anymore, for many years already. So reactivating this product is not possible anymore.
What you can do is add a request to the end of this thread here, asking for an update of your AI license to the latest Cubase AI 15. This is a free update, so you can get the update to the latest release.
-When I say “it works” I mean the yamaha mw12cx works with Cubase AI6 long time ago.
-The interface of Cubase is working on his PC but not the software itself. It’s asking a liscence but my fatherin law never had one with his package (yamaha product + software CuB AI6)
I think “contact support with cd info you possess to find out possible options they may have for you.” is a good option. I’ve already make a ticket for them but I triied to find a solution on this forum.
