with the new version of Nuendo 15 I can’t open any templates anymore. Neither built-in factory templates, nor my own user templates. When I double click on any of them in the new HUB, I’m always prompted with the “Project Setup” dialogue for creating a new empty project.
It’s happening on my end too.
I’ve tried every method I can think of, but no matter what I do, opening a template only results in an empty project.
My environment:
・Mac Studio (AppleSilicon)
・macOS Sequoia 15.7.5
・Upgrade from Nuendo 14
Things I’ve tried:
・Launching v15 while carrying over the v14 profile
・Launching v15 without carrying over profiles from older versions
・Launching v15 on a different machine with a fresh OS install
・Launching v15 in Rosetta mode
In all of these cases, double-clicking to open a template—including the built-in ones—just opens an empty project.
However, if I open the template’s .npr file directly, the saved data loads normally.
I was really shocked and disappointed when I tried to open my own templates to test things out right after upgrading, only to have empty projects open…
I’d like to see this addressed as soon as possible.
It might help provide clues for a fix if the original poster could provide more details about their environment and situation.
Also, is anyone able to open them normally on other OS versions, like Windows or macOS 26 Tahoe (other than Sequoia)?
Also, while not directly related to this issue, regarding the splash screen at startup, from the second time I launch Nuendo 15 onwards, a black border appears around the entire splash screen, which looks a bit strange.
First I need to select a project folder as usual. Everything normal up to this point. But then the “Project Setup” window pops up, where I can set the different project settings (duration / frame rate / time displays / file format etc.). Afterwards an empty project opens up and not the selected template.
