N15 crashes when adjusting tempo in the tempo track

I’m getting instant crashes repeatedly on N15 when adding points on the tempo track.

Running macOS Tahoe 26.2 on M4 Max.

Anyone with similar issues?

Anyone else facing this issue? Or, could someone please try adding a tempo track and inserting a tempo change point in N15? :folded_hands:

Just tried on an empty project and all good here….MBP M1 max-N15-MacOS 15.7.3

edit : added an audio file and still no issues adding multipple tempo change points.

Just tried and it’s working fine here. Mac Studio M2, Sequoia.

Thanks guys! Yeah, working fine on a new empty session for me as well. Seems like an issue with the project I’m working on, which was started on N14.

Need to figure out a way to fix this without messing up the project as it crashes the minute I add 1 or 2 points. :pensive_face:

Edit: Can someone please help test this when the Tempo track is within the new Group/Folder track? On my end it stops crashing when I drag it out of the group/folder.

Why would you put a tempo track in a group/folder?

In this particular session, I have voiceovers, sfx and music running over a 3hr session. So, to keep things organized I had the tempo track in the music group folder.

ah, I suspect no one in beta would have a tempo track in a folder that now works as a bus. I suspect that’s the issue now. I presume it works pre N15.

In, this situation I Select All, Copy and Paste, into a new project, that is based on the same template, as the current project, but with the same channel and track names, as well as track order, and types (media is already minimised).

This is a great way to reconstruct a project and lose nothing, without having to look at earlier backups, and shows an aspect of Steinberg DAW’s, that make it easy and potentially fail-safe, to use their products.

I did a quick test on an otherwise empty project. No crashes. This is C15 and Win10.

yep, tested here N15 new group channel folder track with everything inside inc tempo track, no issues, works as expected.

MBP M1 max- Sequoia 15.7.3 - N15

Can you try to create a new project native to N15 and import all tracks from your current project and see if that solves it?

It seems quite a bit of bugs arise from backwards compatibility when there are new features in the way.

Yeah, will try and migrate to a new session as I’m noticing that it still crashes sometimes with the tempo track outside the folder.
