Nakedboards mc-8

I am trying to connect Nakedboards MC-8 to Cubase 13, and I see it in the MIDI REMOTE but only one fader is showing up. I have tried to manually add more because there are supposed to be 8, but it will not let me (see attached screenshot). If anyone uses this, I would welcome information. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

To add more controls, click on the Edit MIDI Controller Surface button, please.

Thanks Martin - I have done that many times, but even though I am adding faders in a new spot, it only recognizes the first one. !?!?

Just to be sure, have you setup your controller to transmit different midi message per fader?

OMY, I went on the Nakedboards setting page and set a different number for the CCs on each fader. Now I see the 8 faders that I was able to enter! But now that it “works” I have more questions, and I would be SO thankful for any advice, as I find no manual for this controller online, and maybe I am just too much a newbie at it to “get it” yet. I basically want to be able to use sliders for expression, dynamics, vibrato, pan, etc.

  1. I want to set controllers for Spitfire BBC orchestra, as well as EW OPUS instruments. If libraries have different CC numbers for the same thing, do I have to keep resetting these on the website in order to use it properly for each library?

2 Where it says “channel select” and wants numbers, do you have to set every track (channel) separately if for example one track is using Spitfire, and the other OPUS?

3 Can you ignore the CC settings online and just map these sliders to the Quick Controls instead?

4 Likewise, can you ignore online settings and do “Learn CC# automation” like you see in many libraries?

THANK YOU!

Hi,

From your description, this is rather task for the Quick Controls then MIDI Remote. By MIDI Remote we control mostly Cubase functions (Transport, Mixer). With the Quick Controls, we control the plug-ins parameters.

So I would make a fix setup on the hardware. Then I would assign the given MIDI CCs to the Quick Controls. And then I would prepare Quick Controls presets for the given libraries (EW or Spitfire), which I would load into the tracks based on the library.

OK thanks! Not sure I understand everything here, but I will do some experimenting and hope it works.
