Naming of Percussion-Instruments

I have a player who plays various percussion instruments. I managed to get the names on the first page of the score right. On the following pages the abbreviations appear incorrect. It should be noted that I created these instruments myself, recreating them from congas or bongos. Thanks in advance for your help

You have to set the abbreviated (short) player name too. Right click in the player card in setup mode (in the blue area around “Bendir Def” in your bottom image) and choose the “Rename Player…” option. This will bring up the “Rename” dialog box.

I had already done it

The way you have things set up looks a bit off to me - I’m not sure if it is intentional. You have two players (“Qudum Darbuka” and “Bendir Def”), each of which has two percussion kits (“Qudum Darbuka” has a kit named"Qudum" and a kit named “Darbuka” etc), and each kit has multiple percussion instruments inside it presumably. Is there just one Qudum and one Darbuka or are there multiple? If only one, I’m not quite sure why you would have a percussion kit to hold one instrument.

I think it still shows the names of the individual instruments instead of the player names if you are using the option to use a percussion “Grid” instead of a 5-line staff. If you want to keep using the grid instead of the 5-line staff, you might need to click on the three dots in the green area for the instrument around “Bendir” and “Def” and choose edit names and make sure the short names are correct.

Also edit your percussion kits by clicking on the three dots “…” and choosing Edit Percussion Kit and, in the dialog box that appears, make sure that the names of the individual instruments within each kit are edited correctly in there by selecting each instrument and “edit names”.

2 players with 2 instruments. The instrument Qudüm consists of 2 drums, but is considered as one instrument. Darbuka consists of one drum. Here are the lines to indicate low and high notes on the instrument.

2 drums in Qudüm are noted in 2 lines.

In the percussion kit window in your screenshot above, select the “Conga (Quinto) 1” and click the “Namen bearbeiten” button (“Edit Names”) and correct the names in there - both long and short. Then do the same for “Conga (Tumba) 2”.

There are lots of names involved here - the player has a name - long and short name. Each kit also has a long name and a short line. Each individual instrument in each kit also has a long name and a short name.

so how can I change this to one name as Qudüm

Go to the “Raster” (“Grid”) tab in your Percussion kit:

In the “Raster” tab Select the two instruments and click on the + next to “Group” to create a group:
