Need a different color for cursor in Edit Mode

The cursor can be seen is great in Edit Mode but every time I need to double check if the Edit Mode is enable or not. I think having a different color for cursor in Edit Mode will be very useful. It will be great if the color can be customized.

Asked for years. Last N10 update shows cursor at least, but different shape/colour I think is necessary and easy to do.
