Need Help: Remapping Option + Scroll Wheel Action in Cubase

Hello folks,

I’ve been trying to remap a specific combination in Cubase, where holding the Option key and using the scroll wheel would behave like Option + Arrow Up or Option + Arrow Down (i.e., to resize tracks vertically). I’ve attempted this using Keyboard Maestro on Mac, but unfortunately, I couldn’t find an action that detects the combination of the scroll wheel and holding down the Option key.

In cubase, to achieve this , the shortcut opt + arrow up or down does it. But my goal is to have it done through the scroll wheel.

Has anyone here successfully achieved something similar, either through Cubase’s settings, a different macOS tool, or some workaround? I’d appreciate any guidance or alternative suggestions to achieve this.

I want to have this shortcut to get a consistant workflow accross my DAWS and video editing softwares.

Thank you in advance!

Hi,

I’m afraid this is not possible. You would find it in the Preferences > Tool Modofiers. But the scroll-wheel is not there.

I think you’re on the right track. Unfortunately I know very little of Keyboard Maestro, but the often dubbed Windows equivalent — AutoHotKey, is able to do what you’re asking for. As Martin said above, it is not possible from within Cubase, I’m afraid.

Hi,

Yes, Keyboard Maestro is the way to go on Mac. I love it!

Thank you for the response both .
The only problem with keyboard Maestro is, as far as I know, has no way to capture the srool wheel mouvement as a hotkey trigger .
