Since the installation of Cubase Pro 8, I can no longer read text with my collection of Steinberg VST Instruments (Symphonic Orchestra, Triebwerk, Hypnotic Dance, Halion Sonic SE, Groove Agent 4).
Does anyone has a solution or approach to suggest?

I know this is more than 5.5 years old, but I just had the same problem, and the fine folks at Steinberg support figured out it was a problem with my system fonts. To fix it I opened the Font Book app, and found the Arial font. It was disabled. Enabling it fixed the black-on-black text problem. They said the font could be disabled or missing.
I only had the problem on one panel in Halion 6, btw.
