Need help with Scarlett!

I just bought the Focusrite Scarlett 2i2 to use on Cubase 8. I registered it, downloaded it and all that and it comes up in Cubase. Problem is it makes no sound when I plug a guitar or mic into it. I think my problem is when I go to Device Setup then VST Audio System I can select Focusrite USB ASIO except when I click Focusrite USB 2.0 Audio Driver it says error: not detected…

I have it activated in my sound control and everything. Anyone know how to fix this??

Please go to the 3rd party Focusrite hardware manufacturer’s website for your audio interface and download and install the latest driver available for your specific operating system version.

Afterwards, restart your computer, and open Cubase and go to Devices, Device Setup, VST Audio System, and make sure the driver is selected for your specific audio interface.

If that does not work then I recommend trying different USB ports directly on your computer (do not use a USB hub) and trying a different USB cable.
