Nektar Panorama CS12 Guitar Amp Plug-in mapping strategy

Hi,

I recently got my CS12 and it is awesome for plug-ins that have fairly static pages of controls like EQ,s, Compressors etc.

Is there a resource that describes a strategy for plug-ins that have dynamically changing components such as guitar modeling plug-ins where amps, cabs, pedals, etc can be swapped out on the same page creating virtually unlimited combinations of controls on screen at the same time?

Sorry to take up bandwidth on this forum if it’s not the place to post, but thanks for any replies!

Hi Casey,

It’s tricky managing dynamic parameters. We have a system called composite map matching which means a dynamic plugin has multiple maps according to different parameter sets.

However, this is quite complicated to manage, and is something we handle directly currently.

If you let me know the plugin you are working with, I’ll take a look and see what the best way (now) is and how we might improve the experience further down the line.

Best,

Tim

Hi Tim,

Thank you for the reply.

I have been using Positive Grid’s Bias FX2 with the Metal Expansion and Acoustic Expansion packs.

I completely understand how tricky this could be and appreciate how much work it would be to get it integrated properly.

I am a hobbyist now and this is by no means a necessity but it sure would be awesome if you have a solution! I worked in Audio Post / DVD / BluRay industry for 25 years and did my share of beta testing and bug reporting for our software and hardware vendors… AMS/Neve, SSL, Sonic Solutions, Digidesign etc.

If you would like me to help test any implementations I am definitely willing. I own Cubase 14, Nuendo 14 and Logic Pro and have them running on a Mac Mini M4Pro.

Thanks again!
