Nektar Panorama CS12 is not starting every session on Cubase/Nuendo

Hi,

The controller does not start up every session, I mean it starts up on average once every 2 sessions. On both Cubase and Nuendo 13.0.51
The problem occurs on a fresh installation of Nuendo.

Nectar CS12 is based on a .js script, so it loads the MIDI Remote script at startup.

I had the same problem on a Presonus Fadeport V2 (with this custom script).
My guess is that the problem is more Cuabse/Nuendo related than controller related. It’s like Cubase/Nuendo isn’t loading the scripts correctly from the scripts folder.

The only working solution at the moment is to restart the program (sometimes several times) or -much better -
pressing the “Reload script” button in the Studio | Midi Remote Manager window.

Anyone knows how to solve the problem?

It’s a known problem in Cubendo…in the next maintenance update,it seems that’s fixed.

Known issue… maintenance update… do you really believe that will be fixed in update? I am not sure. There are many problems that have appeared since Cubase version 9 and never has been fixed.
Next update is Nuendo’s 14 upgrade, so will I have to buy upgrade for 200€ to have this issue fixed?

Of course not…And if you think spending more money will solve your problem, you’re wrong, my friend. Or at least I wouldn’t do it (it would only make me pull the trigger if it were a new version, and even then, I’d think about it…)

We already know how the people at Steinberg behave in this regard. We always have to settle for maintenance updates every 3 or 4 months, which fix a few bugs, but the list keeps growing…

A few minutes ago, I just posted another bug, which was already in v14, which is happening to me, but NOT in v13… Nobody can explain it to me…

The only thing I can think of is to reinstall the Nektar driver, go to your user account and install everything there.

It’s sad that over the years we are more afraid of upgrades than we are hopeful that all the problems will be fixed.
Sometimes I wish I could go back to the old stable versions…
I have noticed that lately, several days after the release of an upgrade, Steinberg has been releasing a maintanance update for those who do not plan to buy the next version (for fear of losing sessions, stability or comfort).
Maybe it will be safer again to wait for a maintenance update to Nuendo 13 after the release of version 14.
