Nepomuk fun

Here’s a weird one I haven’t been able to find reported… on both my laptop and desktop, Dorico only recognizes the small caps versions of Nepomuk. On my laptop, I was able to rename the fonts in such a way they would all coexist but can’t seem to make that same change on my desktop. There, I had to delete the SC versions so Dorico would recognize the regular. I’m at a loss. I don’t anticipate using SC Nepomuk in any title, but I do like to keep my typefaces to a minimum on every project for consistency.

Anyone have the same issues or a possible reason?

Deleting the Nepomuk SC fonts should take care of things. Regular Nepomuk now includes small caps under the OpenType functionality introduced in v6, so there’s no need for the separate SC font.

On Windows, this may need a reboot after deleting the fonts.

Yep. Finally found that with a Bing search. Oddly, Google didn’t dish up that page for me. Still not sure why Dorico wouldn’t even recognize the regulars, but it doesn’t matter now.

Sorry about this. Font grouping in Windows is a massive ----ache.

But yes: the SC versions were only created as a workaround for Dorico to use Small Caps before it could access OpenType features, so I consider them “Legacy”.

I have got some updated versions to Nepomuk and Splentino, which amongst other things may finally fix Windows grouping issues. (Also some minor fixes to Sebastian and Golden Age.)

Hopefully, they can be included in some future update to Dorico, whenever that might be.

Otherwise, you can download updated versions here:

Just make sure you remove the old ones.
