My series of concert band / wind ensemble arrangements of Bruckner’s works continues, this time with the Third Movement (the Scherzo / Trio movement) of Herr Bruckner’s Symphony No. 6 in A Major. This is the movement for which I needed the “Keil” articulation mark. I have ditched that and have used in its place a combination of an accent and a staccato mark. I’ve also found some things in the way Dorico handles the durations of certain Playing Techniques (marcato, for example) that will make me want to go back and revise/re-record my first two movements to this symphony.
I thank everyone who responded to my inquiries about how to implement the “Keil” mark. I’m sorry it didn’t work out in the end, but I’m glad we found something that works.
