since Cubase 14 the button to adjust the gain of an audio clip is in the bottom left of a clip. I really dislike this change and would love to have it changed back or at least give me the option to choose where I want this button to be.
Since the adjustment to the bottom left I can’t count how often I accidentally click on there, even though I just wanted to move a clip.
When changing the volume of a clip, I always use the function in the info line anyway.
Is there anyone else who has a similar experience?
And most of all: since 14.0.20 you don’t need to click on any small symbol anymore. You can hold a modifier key and then click anywhere in the event to change the gain.
By default the modifier is Ctrl+Shift (Windows), Cmd+Shift (Mac).
As I said, I am using the gain function in the info line. It‘s not about how to set the gain, it‘s about where the button is located. As it is right now (bottom left of a clip), I often accidentally click on that button when trying to trim or move a clip. That never happened before. Is there a way to change the button location back to where it was before Cubase 14?
Hi,
I’m afraid there is no way to relocate the button elsewhere.
FYI: I have caught the button by accident countless times, too. That can be quite annoying. However, this has already been discussed in other threads - please feel free to chime in.
I agree. it was so much more comfortable in cubase 12 pro.
before the handle was in the top middle of the audio clip and it was so convenient to use it to adjust the volume of clips. moreover, in cubase 14, everytime I do gain changes in clip there is a short lag that occurs before the volume changes, which is annoying as heck, and which prevents actually a precise and smooth manipulation of clip volumes.
sorry but cubase 14 didn’t do it for me as 13 didn’t do it either. back to cubase 12 pro I guess.
