New computer advice

My trusty 12 years old computer still works great, but now the time has come to step up…
I found these components - would they be at good choice for a music computer and some video editing:

ASUS ROG STRIX Z690-A GAMING WIFI D4 Motherboard - Intel Z690 - Intel LGA1700 socket - DDR4 RAM - ATX
Intel Core i9-12900K Alder Lake CPU - 16 kerner 3.2 GHz - Intel LGA1700 - Intel Boxed without heatsink/fan
ASUS GeForce RTX 3070 DUAL V2 - 8GB GDDR6 RAM - Graphic card
Corsair Vengeance LPX DDR4-3600 C18 BK DC - 32GB
Samsung 970 EVO Plus SSD M.2 2280 - 2TB

Among the infinite number of possibilities, this is a good one.
Except that you are prob. over-spending on the GPU, like most people do, I might add.
A basic GPU can still do quite a lot these days, will cost less, and run quieter.

Fully agree. Also to have a more quiet experience: do not overspend on a (useless) GPU card. Use the built-in gfx from the CPU, or buy any recent fanless gpu card. get a quiet CPU fan. go for an Alder lake (or Raptor lake) Intel i7 that has “e-cores”. (These will be sufficient during recording sessions and may even run fanless.) avoid mechanical drives, use SSDs only. clean up your Windows install from useless bloatware that consume resources in the background. and +1 also on the PSU recomme…

Maybe… - the reason being that I want to get more into video production + I need 3 screens, and the onboard card only has 2.
I don’t care about noise because the machine is placed in another room :- )

Like an idiot I forgot to order another SSD for an audio drive…Samsung 980 Plus 2tb on the way
I can have 4 SSD and 4SATA or 3 SSD and 8 SATA…think I’ll wind up going 3 and 8

I just upgraded to a rather mid tier PC about 2 months ago. Couldn’t be happier. Intel rocks for single core performance (I have a i5-11600K), which is still very important for audio.

Having a poor graphic card or a basic one that’s not balanced with your system will cause bottle neck in the system.
