if i buy a new dongle is it an easy process to transfer my licences over?
Yes very easy, essentially drag and drop. There is a page on the Steinberg site that shows instructions.
And here is a page detailing the various eLicensers that have been sold in the past. Jumping from Mk12 to Mk4 made a big difference to performance for me.
