please steinberg move the “use default location” button and folder name back to the hub itself and not in a settings menu
we need to change this per project opened and its way easier to use it as part of the hub like it used to be
there is clearly space for it
@Matthias_Quellmann
Agreed.
I agree… That is a strange move. Hmmm?
BTW, the new Hub can be resized to your preference, but to store your chosen size you need to shut down Cubase immediately after you resize it, or it will revert to standard size.
Pressing F5 no longer works (to open the MediaBay).
It does for me (From Hub and opened project) ![]()
It used to work without an opened project in 14.
Working on 15 for me open or closed (hub only) Odd it’s not for you.
Personally, I think this is Steinberg’s best Hub ever.
The default button is in the right place in the Hub Settings tab. Take the time to explore it; it has much more to offer than to criticize.
Minor detail, but …
- Close all instances of Cubase
- Open Cubase 15; the hub appears
- Press the F5 key; MediaBay should open, but nothing happens
It needs a click into the client area of the “Cubase Pro Hub” before F5 works.
Yes please!
@Matthias_Quellmann
Steinberg just loves to shunt stuff around.
I think this is because when the hub opens the focus is on the “search” textbox, which seems not to accept function key input. This is why clicking elsewhere on the dialogue enables the function keys.
IM not so very HO this should not happen in a paid-for program. Even I can program function key activated events when the focus of the dialogue is in a textbox.
I agree that having the ‘Default Location’ in the Hub Settings is not a good decision (and breaks my workflow).
If you start a new project or want to work on an existing project, then it’s fine as it is now. But I very frequently just am trying out functionalities for which I use the ‘Default Location’ \Projects\tmp . In the previous hub I could quickly say to create new project in the default location, but now I have to first open de Settings, make the change to default location, close the settings, create a project, do my things, and after I am done, go back to the settings and disable default location.
A minor thing but very annoying…..
a
Totally agree. I have 2 folders for “personal” and “client” projects and having to open the setting to set the folder is unnecessarily slow.
Would be even better if the default folder is a dropdown where we can select several recently used locations. Look at Free Download Manager for example.
same. two more moves before start the project
Agreed. Even if I don’t change the default location often, it’s helpful to see the default location when I create a new project.
Also, why are half the buttons from the new Hub links to some website?
Annoying…
Is there a way to go back to how the hub looked in Cubase 14?
