New Install Cubase 13 - No Sound

I hope someone feels like helping me to get my new instal of Cubase 13 up and running.
The death of a faithful old hard drive, running Cubase 5, has interrupted 3 projects that were almost finished but, with a new drive and updated Windows, I’ve been looking forward to working with the new software. However, on opening up the first of the old projects, I’ve been unable to get any sound output to the monitors, and none of the on-screen metres register any activity as the song ‘plays’. The cursor moves across the screen and you can see all the automation working, but all in silence.
The problem is also there when opening a new project – no sound.

I attach some screenshots to show that my audio software is working and the routing appears to be correct. I’m sure this must be a simple fix but, as a musician who is not a computer expert, I would appreciate it if someone could point me in the right direction – thanks…

Hi,

How does it look like in Studio > Audio Connections > Outputs and Studio > Audio Connections > Control Room, please?

Hi,

OK, the Control Room is disabled, so how does the Output look like, please?

Thanks for quick response.

Hi,

This looks like a Monitor output. I would expect Line Out or Mix or something like this.

Hi Martin,
Yes this is a Monitor output - the only audio output I have ever had is this stereo mix to my Focusrite unit, for monitoring, and I have never had a problem in the past.

Hi,

Can you see meters on the tracks? Can you see meters on the Stereo Out?

Yes, I can see meters on each track and on the Stereo Out, but, as I say, there is no activity when in play

Hello Martin,
I have just updated various drivers and, on re-booting, I now have sound. Thank you for trying to help, and apologies for wasting your time :+1:
