New install help

I’ve moved to a new computer and am re-installing my Steinberg apps. One of the apps is “The Grand 3” for which I already have the VST files from the previous computer.

I used the Download Manager to install the main Grand 3 app but now it wants to re-download the 30GB of VST sounds. I opened The Grand 3 stand-alone app and cannot find a setting to set the VST files location.

Is there a way to avoid a 30GB download for files that are already available?

Yes, re-download of files can be avoided.

Go into the directory that contains the vstsound files. Double-click on any one of them. The Steinberg Library Manager will open, and add all the files in that directory to your library. This works for content for any of the Steinberg apps.

Side note - I’ve found Steinberg’s library system behaves far better when I have all Steinberg apps under one main directory, which I set as the library default location in the “Library Manager”.

That worked like a charm. Thank you
