Steinberg has released new TOOLS for MR version 1.7.4 for Windows and Mac OS X . The free update solves ensures full support for Cubase 7.

Running Windows 8 pro and Cubase 7.0.1,
clean install today, no other software.
MR816x, with new driver V174 win64
Audio priority normal, power scheme deactive,
asio buffer size 256.
CC121, with new driver V174 win 64
No other plugins or vst.
Opening any project and still having these hick-ups!!!
No problems with Win 7 Ultimate 64 bit
Any suggestions?

Sounds like a problem with the LSI L-FW3227-100 chipset used on this board with graphics card… Texas Instruments should be the chipset of your choice for firewire… There are a lot of problems with others… Make sure, that graphics card and firewire are not sharing the same irq on the mainboard… Try moving your graphics card to other PCIe slots…
Try as well to set the firewire latency with the tool in utility folder of the MR Driver from small to medium or even large… If this all doesn’t fix the problem, change your firewire chipset by deactivating the onboard one in bios and adding a pcie card with texas instruments chipset. If nothing helps, maybe change your mainboard to one with graphics onboard…
Never had that problem before, with same configuration.
The only change is windows 8 pro.
Windows 7, Cubase 7.0.1 and mr816x runs great.
Well, then go back to Win 7… There is no need for the Vista-like-mess Windows 8…
