Then there are crashes and freezes that are actually related to a MIDI issue on the operating system side. This has been described in here:

Cubase 12 introduced support for WinRT MIDI, but this is not the default setting in Cubase.
If available, please give it another try using WinRT MIDI as this might address at least some of the crashes and freezes reported.
