No playback for Bongos?

I have a score with Bongos, but I hear no playback. I think it is configured the same as everything else with NotePerformer, but I hear nothing. I hear all other instruments. I created a brand new empty project and with the same configuration I hear the Bongos. What are the possible explanations?

… numerous. Most playback anomalies can be corrected by re-applying the playback template: Play → Playback Template … Noteperformer (Apply/Close).

Thank you so much! That fixed most of my problems, all of my parts have playback except one. I cannot get Conga to payback. I did the same treatment, but it is silent.

We might be better able to help with the Dorico project exhibiting the problem - could be cut down to just a few measures.

Do you mean that I should make a copy with just a few measures and upload the file here?

Save As … and then upload the original with the problem.

Hi @pat_dixon , the Conga is the fifth player but routed to MIDI channel 1 of NotePerformer instance, is that correct? I would expect channel 5.

Attached is an excerpt from the composition with the problem. I don’t want to share the entire score. I have a lot of scoring in the main file that I don’t want to lose, so deleting and re-adding a conga stave would be painful. The attached file should illustrate the problem. Every drum part has playback except conga.

I changed the instrument for Conga 1 to Conga quinto, and for Conga 2 to Conga tumba. Then it played back.

Well that fixed it, I can change from Conga to some other kind of Conga and I get playback. Is this a bug?

It looks like the percussion map only has entries for

Conga (Tumba) [=Dorico conga.low]

Conga (Quinto) [=Dorico conga.high]

The “Conga” instrument is associated to the Dorico “conga.medium” drum. Names are a little confusing.

Dorico seems to understand:

latin.unpitched.conga.very.high   Conga(Requinto)
latin.unpitched.conga.high	      Conga(Quinto)
latin.unpitched.conga.medium	  Conga
latin.unpitched.conga.low	      Conga(Tumba)
latin.unpitched.conga.very.low	  Conga(Super Tumba)
